almost a month again

So life has gotten in the way again of me updating this blog... I have been pretty busy lately, with school work and crocheting. My second attempt to sell some of my goods is fast approaching, and I have been working on various things to sell in addition to the scarves I made before. I am working on a couple of scarflettes (short button closure scarves, way too cute!) and dishcloths along with two afghans. I have one Afghan done with exception of weaving in ends, and I am almost finished with the second one, I need to pick up one more thing of yarn to get it to the right length and that one will be ready to be washed and labeled. The dishcloths are cute round ones in which I am going to package up in a cellophane bag and attach a poem I created (I took a few poems I found online, and borrowed some of there ideas and added some of my own to form a unique poem just for my dishcloths) I had wanted to get a bunch of hats made too but I decided against them, hopefully that wasn't like suicide or anything. Guess I will just have to wait and see how it goes.

And the best part of what I have been doing lately is..... admiring my beautiful brand new goddaughter!!!! Jacie McKenna was born 11-8-08 at 10:05pm weighing in at 8lbs 1.75oz 20in long. I seriously couldn't be more in love with the precious little girl even if she was my own. I thank my bestfriend sooo much for letting me be there for the delivery and being in her life as her godmother... I seriously was balling my eyes out as soon as she was out of her womb.

My mom also just sign the sale agreement for her house, which still houses a lot of my belongings... so I have been there quite often going thru stuff and moving things out... I would just like to know how someone can acquire so much STUFF!!!

So that is where I have been, I will get some pictures up soon, have lots to show!

the weather is getting cooler, do ya need a scarf???

I just may have one for ya!

Here are the scarves I completed and attempted to sell... sorry I can't remember the exact color of most the yarns used, I don't have the labels with me or my notebook with the details so I'm just guessing on most of them! (I can't even begin to tell you what the homespun blue was really called or the berella 4 either)

I made two of these, lemonade homespun, thin and short, perfect for a little girl...

Vanna's choice, gray something
Vanna's Choice, mauve-ish
Patons Poodle
Two homespuns. Lemonade and a blue
Red Heart Soft, turquoise and teal
Bernat Berella 4, pinkish mauve color
Vanna's Choice, Pea Green, color isn't showing up real well but I really like this one!
Red Heart Soft, Turquoise
Homespun blue something
Red Heart Symphony, orange
Vanna's Choice, Violet and Olive

Red Heart Baby, green
Mainstays, fun fur like stuff.. black with silver and blueish puffs (that was an amazing description I know!)
There was I think one more scarf maybe two that I didn't get photographed, I made them while sitting there.
Enjoy, hopefully in November I can sell a couple of them at least, I am going to try and whip up some hats to go with some of them, any suggestions to which ones would be best with a hat? Let me know!
Happy Weekend All!

Granny Squares!!!

So a fellow Crochetville memeber and blogger has asked to see some of the things we have done with Grannies, so I decided I'd give her a peak. I have not completed all that many grannies for the simple fact that I am still not comfortable with joining them... I have only ever connected 12 or was it 16 (I'm really not sure, I will have to take a pic later and add it, I do believe since the afghan is not completed that I have not photographed it yet. It's a giant granny square afghan with the 12 or 16 smaller grannies in the center, then a continues round outside of that)

A few months ago I was part of the Spring Secret Pals Swap at the ville and in the begining they asked us to donate at least one square for some end of the round prizes and I think a ville gahn too... I donated 10, after I did the first few I just flew thru them, I followed a few patterns for the first couple and then after that I made some up as I went along...

all images are clickable...

Other than that I made the squares for my gaint granny #2 (as mentioned in another post and earlier in this one) which were just your basic granny. Which I thought I had pictures of in my photobucket so I could add them while here at work, and I don't! That stinks...
So I will end this with some more images of the first giant granny I made (and completed)
I'll be back shortly to add a post with pics of my scarves....

almost a month!

It has been almost a month since I last posted! Oye... I simply admire people who can update and post on a daily basis or even a regular basis. I have been feverishly working away at various projects. I'm in the middle of a swap at crochetville so I have been working up lots of goodies for my pal (who doesn't know who I am, shhh!) We are nearing the end of the swap so I've got to get in gear and finish up the last few things I'd like to send her. I also have been working on some baby afghans, I finished one on saturday and started another one, I will have two showers to go to in November so I am trying to get them done in plenty of time so I am not rushing to finish them in time. And because I am planning on making a good deal of my Christmas presents this year I will need as much of November as possible to get all of those items done. Sometimes I think I set unobtainable goals for myself, but there was a time a few months ago, just after we moved when I sat down after work one night and had nothing to do... and I didn't like it. I really think that I like being overly busy and having a full plate/ busy schedule... I don't like just sitting there, it's boring... which is probably the reason I have like 10 wips going right now... Hopefully I can get somewhere on them soon, I no longer sit and just watch TV I have to have a hook in hand working on something.... again I can't just sit there, TV is boring if I'm not crocheting while watching. I know I say this all the time but I will try my hardest this time to remeber to post some pictures of the things I've finished most recently... I still have to post the pics of all the scarves I made and attempted to sell. Oh that's what else I have to do, make some hats to go with the scarves to try and sell them again... I'm hoping that a hat and scarf set might sell better then just a scarf.... yes-no? Well that's all I've got for now since I don't have the pics here with me to post!

No Such Luck

So I was offered some tables to share in a craft tent this past weekend at a local community festival.... I mainly took scarves, lots of them and then i remembered I had worked up a bunch of snowflakes unsing caron simply soft yarn. I sold not a one thing!!! The lady I shared the table with only sold a handful of things. I guess it was too warm for people to be thinking about scarves..... Oh well, we are going to share a table again in November sometime.... I think scarves will do way better then!!! I am also going to work up some 4.5 hr afghan/throws to take and try sell them too, hopefully people will be doing some holiday shopping at that one.

Well that's what I've got for now, I'll be back sometime to post pics of all the scarves I made to sell!!!!

toodles!

I've got stuff to show!!!

Ok so this will end the streak of lame-o posts (well there was really only two but it took months to post those two). I've got lots of FO's to show off and more I still need to photograph. So in the last few months (since like april may-ish) I have completed Delilah's Round Ripple.

I've also completed the afghan squared and gifted it to a very deserving bride-to-be! I just love these colors!

On the checked of list (doesn't really exist, but it gives me an idea) scarves out the wah-zoo, my intention is to set up a table/tent at a few antique car shows this fall and sell some of my handmade items, scarves being one of those items. This is just one of the many I completed last week, with many more to come!

Well that's what I've got for now, I am still working on the up-down stitch afghan for an xmas present (about 75% done), the 2nd Afghan Squared (with a granny twist), A new 4.5 hr afghan for my new living room and I just started another xmas afghan, this one a ripple in two shades of blue and a med-dk brown. I'll be sure to try and keep us with this a little better showing more pictures too! Enjoy.

Another Lame-O Update

So I'm going to update eventhough I am no where near my pictures to post exciting stuff..... So I'll just gab for a bit and hopefully I'll remember to post again real soon with some photographs. I've been crazy busy lately, moved to a new place with the bf our first official "our" place, trying to get the house sold (so i can get a new car, mine is slowly falling apart, and now some lady side-swiped it last week... ofcourse no major damage) new position at work and starting my thesis project.... YAY architecture will be done in may, then just 3 classes to go and I'll be all done with that major.... then comes the hard part.... do I pursue a photography degree or just kind of jump into it.... over the past few years (3 or so) I've realized that maybe architecture isn't what I want to being doing for the rest of my life.... so it will take some soul searching but I'm sure I'll figure something out...

I hadn't been crocheting all that much but now that we are almost settled in the new place I am making time for it and I've finished a few projects and started only one, but I feel the need to start something new again! hehe I promised a good friend of mine that I'd make her new baby a christening outfit, I've never attempting anything wearable beside a beanie so I think I want to start one and give it a try before the baby is here and it's time for a christening and there is no outfit or it looks horrible (with her first child her bf's mother had someone make the christening outfit and it was horrible, so she's afraid of another homemaid one).

I've also just started taking my cousin's senior pictures, I sat down and edited the first batch last night, I'm so excited she's letting me do this for her, it's so much fun and I love being able to get the experience. We decided to do them in batches instead of trying to get them all done at once... this way we can take a look at the ones we did first and see what we want to do differently for the second batch and so on!

So that's where I'm at, hopefully I'll remember to get some pics up here. Take care!
